Sylva After Dark is an evening to stroll through downtown Sylva and enjoy a night of arts, dining, music, refreshments, shopping and more. Come downtown the first First Friday of each May-December from 6:00-9:00 pm to enjoy what our merchants have to offer.

August’s Evening Stroll

The next Sylva After Dark will be held Friday August 6th from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm in downtown Sylva.  It’s a fun evening of art, music, food, shopping and more! See below for some of the events that are happening this month…
It’s by Nature Gallery will host a demonstration in oil painting, by Tuckasegee artist, Jack Stern.  Friday August 6th from 6-9 PM during Sylva Art Dark.  Also musical guest, Robin Whitley on acoustic guitar. Wine & Cheese will be served. Please call 631-3020 for further details.

City Lights Bookstore
Dave Waldrop and Michael Revere to Read from New Book of Poetry and Memoir
from 7-8:30 pm. Dave Waldrop, of Webster, and Michael Revere of Cullowhee will be at the store on Friday, August 6th at 7:00 p.m. to celebrate the publication of their new book, entitled Appalachian Roots.  The first half of the book is entitled “Love, Family, and Forgiveness” and is a memoir of Dave Waldrop’s growing-up years in Dillsboro and  Sylva. The  second half of the book is entitled “:Soul Harvest” and is combrised of stories, memoir, and poetry by Michael Revere. Each author will read selections from the book and take questions from the audience.
