Greening Up The Mountains

The Last Saturday in April each year Downtown Sylva Association, together with its partners and sponsors and vendors, hosts a wonderful day-long street festival. The 2008 Festival will be held on Saturday, April 26th.

Greening Up The Mountains 5K Run/Walk

Beginning at 9:00am at Mark Watson Park and winding through historic downtown Sylva. Prizes for top finishers overall and in each age group!

4th of July

DSA participates in the July 4th celebrations, which are hosted and funded by the Jackson County Recreation Department. There are live music and food vendors on Main St. beginning in the late afternoon, and a spectacular fireworks display shot from the old courthouse at dark.

Look this year for live music and children's activities on the site of the future Bridge Park!

Annual Christmas Parade

Each year just after Thanksgiving, the Downtown Sylva Association puts together an evening parade complete with floats representing a broad spectrum of the community. Children in attendance can have their pictures taken with Santa Claus. This is a family-friendly fun filled evening!
