The Jackson County Public Library will host a program on preserving family stories with author Julia Ebel on Saturday morning, October 1st at 10:30 a.m. in the Community Room of the Public Library Complex. The workshop is called Priceless Gifts Without Price: Keeping Our Stories and Passing Them On.

“At a time when fast-paced lives limit traditional storytelling and front porch conversation, we still need the roots that knowledge of family and heritage provides,” says Julia Taylor Ebel. The author of seven books, she will discuss finding ways to pass along your own stories and your own heritage as gifts to your family.

Drawing from her experience as a writer, Ebel looks at the pen, the camera, the kitchen, the garden, and more as elements in the process of passing on our stories. Workshop participants will leave with fresh ideas on personal gifts—priceless gifts without price —just in time for the approaching holidays.
