The Jackson County Farmers Market will hold its next market Saturday March 5th at St. John’s Episcopal Church – 18 Jackson Street in downtown Sylva from 9 to noon. Here you can find all sorts of locally made gift and goodies. Locally raised pork is available, as are jams and jellies, dessert breads, pies, honey, baklava, spanakopita, herbal remedies, locally produced soap, yarn from locally raised llamas, handmade journals and jewelry. You will also find eggs, garlic and greens and last time we had greenhouse grown tomatoes!! I took $20 to the market and bought a jar of honey, a loaf of apple bread, adozen eggs, a tomato, a bag of greens, locally raised bratwurst and apound of breakfast sausage. I also got to sample the most delicious lemon curd, some chocolate raspberry jam and a variety of breads. So come to the market, see your friends, make new friends and support your local bakers, farmers and crafters! Markets are held every other weekend throughout the winter months. We have two left, March 5th and March 19th. The first Saturday in April we will move to our summer location in the Bridge Park parking lot. Thanks for your support.
