It’s by Nature Gallery
Itʼs by Nature will be hosting a one-man show during the month of December for Cullowhee watercolor painter, Craig Forrest. The show will be titled, Downtown Sylva in Detail-Urban Subjects, A New Direction. An opening reception will be held at the gallery on Friday, December 3rd during Sylva After Dark from 6:30-9:00 PM. Annie’s Naturally Bakery will be participating from 5 ’til 8. They will be showcasing our Holiday Breads (German Stollen and Italian Panettone) and pairing them with Egg Nogg.
Heinzelmannchen Brewery Food and Beer Pairing – enjoy Heinzelmannchen beers paired with great recipes from Your Gnometown Cookbookfrom 5-8 p.m. at brewery, 545 Mill Street.

“The Downtowner Building” offices are having a holiday open house (upstairs in the building to the right of Sapphire Brewing Company). Businesses included are The Tuckaseegee Reader, Aurora Professional Design Guild, Jim Smythe (painter), Jackson County Real Estate, The Wilderness Society, AWAKE, and Insure America (Tom Beagles). All are welcome to drop by for music, food and beverages, and holiday cheer.
Signature Brew Coffee Company
will feature the drawings of Mary Jane Ellsworth of Cullowhee . She is a member of “The Silent Generation” at William and Mary College, the American Aesthetic Society and the Blue Ridge Watermedia Society. Her exhibit at Signature Brew will feature her signature line drawings of television personalities of the 2000 political debates.
The Nichols House will be open and serving wine, cheese and refreshments.
Saturday December 4th – Pictures with Santa from 12-3 pm in the courtyard at The Village at Sapphire Mountain Brewing Company (Village Winter Wonderland). Pictures are $15.00 ($5.00 for extra prints). Bring canned goods and receive a $5.00 discount. (Canned goods will be donated to the Community Table). Saturday December 4th at 3:30 is the Sylva Christmas Parade. Christmas floats, music and a visit from Santa Claus. The theme is “The Wonder of Christmas Morning”. Our Grand Marshalls will be representatives from the Jackson County Main Library Fundraising Committee and Friends of the Jackson County Main Library.
