Treat Street and Other Halloween Fun!

Come to downtown Sylva this Saturday from 2-5 pm for Treat Street.  Wear your costumes, bring your kids and Trick or Treat safely!   Participating merchants will be handing out candy.  There will also be a few unusual creatures visiting City Lights Bookstore on Saturday, October 30. Come listen and be entertained by Whimzik’s mask and music Halloween story time. All ages welcome so join us during your ‘Treat Street’ hike at 3pm for a splendid spooky time. For more information:828-586-9499. For anyone who comes in to Annie’s Naturally Bakery on Saturday, October 30 during business hours, is dressed up and makes a purchase, they will recieve a free home-made Annie’s “spooky treat”!  Treat Street is sponsored by Food Lion.

2nd Annual Colorfest this weekend

Saturday, October 23, from 10am until 4:00pm Catch the Spirit of Appalachia (CSA) presents its annual Western North Carolina art event, ColorFest, Art of the Blue Ridge. Starting with an artist’s reception on September 29, this month-long event will spotlight regional Western North Carolina artist’s work in shops on Main Street in Downtown Sylva, North Carolina. These selected fine artists will gather underneath store awnings and colorful umbrellas strewed along main street on the sidewalks of Sylva in a culminating day-long event on October 23 to create their works of art for you to witness and experience the magic first-hand. Local musicians will also gather in restaurants on Main Street to set a backdrop of colorful music. You can come and enjoy the art, the music, the restaurants and hometown shops on this special day in Sylva, North Carolina!

REACH Benefit at Sapphire Mountain Brewing Company

The Village at Sapphire Mountain Brewing Company is hosting a benefit for REACH on Saturday, November 16th.  Proceeds from Saturday’s sales will benefit REACH.  Big House Radio will be playing from 7-10pm.
