This year we have more variety, books, authors and activities for all ages. Come meet over 50 authors, hear readings, make books, listen to music, get your rare and unusual books appraised, and (for a price) even get a poem for your child’s pet from North Carolina’s Poet Laureate, Kay Byer. We will have a famous dog, who might provide a paw print instead of an autograph. Don’t forget to shop for Christmas gifts with autographed books for readers of all interests and ages.  Admission is free.  The Book Fair is a fund raising event for the new Jackson County Public Library Complex. Twenty percent (20%) of the book sales will be donated to the New Library Fund. And because of a matching grant from the NC State Employees Credit Union Foundation, that 20% of sales becomes 40% contributed to the new library complex. The Fair is sponsored by City Lights Bookstore, the Friends of the Jackson County Main Library, and the Jackson County Public Library and is supported by the Downtown Sylva Association. The fair will take place at the First United Methodist Church on Jackson Street in downtown Sylva. Call City Lights at 828-586-9499 for more information.
