Gary Carden’s one-man play, “Prince of Dark Corners,” will be performed at the Sylva First United Methodist Church on Jackson St. at 7:30 p.m. TONIGHT as part of the 5th Great Smoky Mountains Book Fair. The show is based on the life and times of Lewis Redmond, a 19th century bootlegger and upstate folk hero who at one time was more popular than Jesse James and Billy-The-Kid. Actor Steve Brady brings a new interpretation to the figure of Major Lewis Redmond in this production. The play is sponsored by the Friends of the Jackson County Main Library. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and tickets will be available at the door. All proceeds go to the New Library Fund to furnish and equip the new Jackson County Library Complex.
