The Jackson County Farmers’ Market will hold a special event on Saturday, August 15, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. “Taste of the Market” will feature taste-testing the many vegetables that are ripe now, fresh and local produce at its finest. Local honey and jam will be available for people to sample. Cooking demonstrations will begin at 10 a.m., with tasty recipes for quick preparation of garden vegetables and greens and delicious sauces. Live music will be performed by vendors and friends.
The Jackson County Farmers’ Market itself is bigger than it has ever been, with new vendors and an expanding list of items offered for sale. In addition to the full range of garden vegetables in season, you will find plants, herbs, cut flowers, honey, jam, cornmeal, baked goods and fresh farm eggs. Also for sale are soaps, lotions, baskets, walking sticks, jewelry, tote bags and purses, hand-made books and many other crafts.
The Farmers’ Market is located in downtown Sylva on Railroad Avenue in the parking next to the beautiful Bridge Park.
