The inaugural Taste of Downtown Sylva was a smashing success! Tickets were sold out before the start of the event and participants thoroughly enjoyed roaming through downtown Sylva sampling the wide range of culinary selections provided by participating businesses.  “Saturday was a wonderful event. There were folks from Waynesville to Bryson City enjoying themselves. It was great meeting new customers and catching up with our regulars. Taste of Downtown Sylva was definitely the best thing that has happened in Sylva in a long time.” says Lisa Wood, owner of Spring Street Cafe. Establishments on Mill, Main, and Spring streets offered samples of their culinary delights to over 200 ticket holders. DSA Executive Director Julie Sylvester expressed gratitude to all the participating businesses and their staff for donating their food, drinks, and time. “The communities support and enthusiasm about this first annual event was wonderful! Sylvester stated, ” After this overwhelming response from businesses, local and visiting community, we look forward to planning next year’s Taste of Downtown Sylva Walking Culinary Stroll.
